The Hollywood Reporter announced a three picture deal with Lion's Gate and Thomas "pushing the meaning of crapatacular to new frontiers" Kinkade to turn his schlocky paintings into schlocky biopics and holiday movies. Jared Padalecki (Supernatural, Gilmore Girls, House of Wax) will star as Kinkade in this trilogy of the banal. The first up will be the Christmas Cottage which is also set to star Marcia Gay Harden and Peter O'Toole, the film will begin shooting later this month in Vancouver.
